The government of Kerala embarked upon the project to create cultural centers in every district to highlight the traditional performances, crafts, etc., unique to each district. The intent of the landscape design was to create common design guidelines that would be implemented across the project sites. The design program includes three aspects- the concourse of cultural connections, the tree heritage, and event spaces. The concourse of cultural connections includes design elements like art installations, information plaques, a history wall, traditional games, and water features. Tree heritage consists of sacred groves, dashapushpam gardens, medicinal plant exploriums, and endangered species zones. Event spaces include OATs for large crowds and smaller informal spaces. This design program is used as a toolkit that can be tailored to suit the local culture in every district
